A Long-Awaited Prey

After two hours watching this striped owl chase shrews in the forest, I lost sight of it as it had just flown to its next perch. Unfortunately, I had lost sight of it and it had completely disappeared. After 10 minutes of searching, I returned to the last place where I had seen it. To my great surprise, she was motionless on the ground with a prey between the talons. Under the last rays of the sun, I had the chance to observe this wonder swallowing the prey she had just caught. An interaction that I have been hoping to see for more than 5 years now.
